Fact: British indy wrestlers just want to be loved

OK, so we’re only a week and a bit into 2012, but this is quite possibly the oddest story you’ll hear all year.

Doyen of the UK indy scene Marty Scurll is going to be a contestant on this weekend’s episode of Take Me Out.

In case you are not familiar with Take Me Out, it is a “provocative, cheeky and electrifyingly funny dating show”, in which presenter Paddy McGuinness (no relation to Nigel, I don’t think) attempts to “fix up a host of sexy single ladies from across the UK in the hope of finding a match made in heaven. Each week, four brave bachelor boys will have to impress Paddy’s flirty thirty to try and bag themselves a date. But if the girls don’t like what they see then the boys face a black out and a trip back home alone.”

And this weekend, our very own Marty will be one of those “brave bachelor boys”.

Apparently there’s a trailer now running on ITV featuring him – I’ve not seen it yet, but as soon as I do, I shall post it here so we can all admire him.

In the meantime, here’s his new Twitter profile picture, alongside presenter McGuinness…

Good luck, Marty!

Judging from the look on Marty’s face, it looks like Paddy may about to be on the business end of a dropkick… πŸ˜‰

Seems like there’s a bit more to this story than we originally thought, judging from today’s lurid tabloid headlines!

Now we know why they call him “Party” Marty Scurll….
