Question: how would you describe the UK wrestling scene?

As you may know if you follow me on Twitter, I’m currently writing a book about British wrestling.

I’m working on a chapter about the scene’s resurgence, and would like your thoughts on how you’d describe the current scene.

Improving from the doldrums?

Better than ever?

Still too full of politics and in-fighting? Or do you think there’s an increased sense of community now?

What about the actual talent on show?

If you’d like to share your thoughts, please add a comment, or just drop me an email. Thanks!

  1. I don’t know much about the wrestling scene in England, Scotland or Ireland but I sure know that in Wales we need more promotions running shows!

  2. Scotty 2 Potty says:

Boring and amateurish. British wrestling needs to start competing with the Americans – it’s whast people want, there’s no point continuing to plow theiur own furrow as the public have shown that it’s not what they want anymiore. Until production values impriove and companys stop using unfit guys it’s going to be a holiday camp joke.

    • Carrie says:

Are you thinking of any companies in particular there?

    • A lot of promotions have a very high level of professionalism for the budget they run on. But the production values and the look of the wrestlers won’t change and improve until there is more money to be made from the industry. Like Jake the Snake once said “If you want to make one million in Pro Wrestling, start off with two”.
And in regards to competing with the Americans. There are far more Promotions in America that are terrible and hopeless, there’s also far more Promotions which are great too.

  3. Check out, all the big name fighters are on it and you can talk to them about anything.
